Download Zimplfy
Free, no account. Pick your computer and follow the steps. The first start takes about a minute.
Mac
Download for Mac- 1Download the disk image and open it.
- 2Drag Zimplfy to Applications, then open it from there.
- 3macOS asks for Accessibility access so Zimplfy can read the text you select. Click Open System Settings and turn Zimplfy on.
- 4Zimplfy lives in the menu bar. Select some text anywhere and press ⌃⌥R.
If macOS says Apple could not verify Zimplfy
Zimplfy is not in the App Store and not yet notarized, so a copy saved by your browser gets this dialog once.
Click Done. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security and press Open Anyway next to Zimplfy. Confirm with your password.
You do it once. Updates do not ask again.
Or install from Terminal, with no dialog
Open Terminal (press ⌘Space, type Terminal, press ↩).
Paste the line below and press ↩. It downloads the same app, puts it in Applications and starts it.
Files fetched this way carry no quarantine flag, so the verification dialog never appears. The script is short and you can read it first at /install.sh.
curl -fsSL https://web-production-991469.up.railway.app/install.sh | shRequirements

- 3Finish the installer. Zimplfy starts and lives in the system tray, next to the clock.
- 4Select some text anywhere and press Ctrl+Alt+R.
About the Windows protected your PC screen
That is Microsoft SmartScreen. It warns about any new installer that has not yet built up a download reputation. Ours is new and not yet code-signed.
Click More info, then Run anyway. You see it once per version, and it fades as more people install the app.
Edge may also ask whether to Keep the download. Keep it.
Requirements
- Windows 10 version 1809 or later, and Windows 11
- 64-bit
- Nothing else to install: .NET is included
- A microphone only if you dictate
Current version 2.4.0. New versions are offered inside the app. All releases on GitHub
No install? Use the web reader
Paste any text and have it explained, summed up or read aloud in your browser. Dictate too. Works on phones and locked-down work computers.
Open the web readerQuestions
Is it safe to run a command from a website in Terminal?
The command only fetches /install.sh from this site, a short script you can read first by opening that address in your browser. It downloads Zimplfy from our public GitHub releases, copies it into Applications and opens it. Nothing needs your password.
Does Zimplfy start with the computer?
Not until you say so. Turn on Start at login in Settings on Mac, or Start at sign-in on Windows.
How do I uninstall?
Mac: quit Zimplfy from the menu bar and drag it from Applications to the Bin. Windows: Settings → Apps → Zimplfy → Uninstall. Nothing else is left behind except the anonymous device token, which you can remove in Settings before you uninstall.
Where do I get older versions?
Every release is on GitHub. The link is below the download buttons.
